Hardwood flooring throughout, completely updated kitchen and baths, private boat dock, outside shower, open sun deck, and screened lanai overlooking the water. "We've been vacationing on DPI for many years. This year we stayed at Tailwind South and had an excellent experience. The house has an extremely large floor plan with great spacious decking all around. Beach access is right across the sand/shell road. As usual there were very few people on the island, which of course is by design, over the Easter holiday. Most days we had the pool to ourselves. It's quite, uncrowded and peaceful. It's a great place to disconnect. We'll be back! "

"We've been coming to this part of Florida every year for the last 10 years. The last 5 years we have been staying on the barrier islands for 4 weeks at a time. The last 3 have been on Don Pedro island. We love the remoteness of the island and the uncrowded beaches. This is a fantastic house and by far the best we've rented in the area (and one of the best we e rented anywhere in the world). Lots of spaces for gathering as a family but also little private spots if some alone time is needed. There is a large porch perfect for watching the sun rise, sunbathing, or afternoon cocktails. There is also a covered portion with a table for eating outdoors. There is a great grill if grilling is on the menu. Our favorite part of the house is a small widow's walk from which to observe the sun setting over the gulf. While not on the beach, it's just across the road from a beach access. There is also pool and tennis court access which is less than a 5 minute walk from the house. Our children and grand children loved the convenience of the pool. If this a first trip to Don Pedro, be advised that one must use the ferry for island access. If ferry use for the car is used sparingly, it's not bad. It is easy to leave a car on the mainland and be a walk aboard. Also, a golf cart is not included with this rental. While a golf cart is not a necessity, it is a nice to have. It's a 15-20 minute walk from the ferry landing, and a golf cart makes it much easier. It's also fun to tool around with grandkids and visit the Palm Island resort. I'd recommend Palm Island Golf Carts for your rental. Heather is great. Also, the WI-FI is a guest configuration which has some limitations. But, hey, you're coming here on vacation! We hope to return to this house next year."
