Location Info
This little town at the northern tip of Anna Maria Island—full-time population 1,800—is beloved for its beachy ambiance, but it isn’t stuck in time. In the last decade, investors have snapped up many humble 1960s-era concrete-block residences and built multi-story mega vacation rental homes in their place. Now, nearly 70 percent of homeowners are rental owners. That means a constant turnover of weeklong visitors, who bicycle or ride their golf carts to scenic Pine Avenue to shop, dine and stroll to the Anna Maria City Pier and the Rod ’N Reel Pier, with their knockout views of the Sunshine Skyway bridge. Venerable institutions like the Island Players community theater, a weekly farmers market, and the Studio at Gulf and Pine art gallery, which its variety of hands-on art classes, help create a sense of community.

Fun Family getaway with our adult kids!
"We were in town for a 50th Wedding Anniversary celebration for my parents. All of their kids and grandkids at the ocean together...this was their dream! We made it happen for them, and our family of 4 stayed at this house. Perfect for our adult kids! Each of them had a room and bathroom of their own upstairs and we had the room and bathroom on the main level! It was such a lovely time. AMI does NOT disappoint!!"
Thank you so much, Denise! We love to hear that you had a great time, enjoyed the home, and the island. We'd love to host you again in the future!
Poor location, poor communication, not safe, owners don't care
"I wanted to provide some feedback regarding our stay last week at Points Hideaway. Overall it's a nice property but there are several issues that I wanted to make you aware. 1. The stove top has pilot lights that are always on. This is a major fire hazard and should be addressed. Anytime someone sets anything on the island, it could potentially catch on fire. We had a small towel that caught fire after sitting on the stove top for a minute. 2. The TV's and remotes are a mess. Three different systems, three different remotes and TV access. It took about an hour to figure out the living room system and the master bedroom system. We were never able to operate the downstairs TV in the game room....extremely frustrating. 3. You should have noted how many steps there were going from the ground floor to the top rooms. That was very unexpected and quite exhausting. 4. The dumb waiter was not operational and given the number of stairs, would have been helpful. 5. The bath towels seemed very old, hard and not plush at all...very poor quality. 6. There should have been more than two garbage bags available in the kitchen. 7. The light switches in the living room/kitchen/dining area should be labeled. There are too many of them and not knowing what they controlled was very frustrating. 8. The ceiling fan remotes were very frustrating and we were not able to get them to work. Might relate to item #7...? 9. Why were we not able to pull our car into the garage? We have two brand new cars that we now have to have detailed because they had to remain outside for five days. 10. It would have been nice to have tissues in all of the bathrooms, there were none. 11. The main air conditioner is in the bedroom on the main floor and was very loud, rattling, and annoying. Something should be done to minimize the noise. We own a vacation rental property in Longboat and have had to make these kinds of accommodations for our guests, not too much to ask I don't think."
We always appreciate guests taking the time to leave valuable reviews and feedback regarding their stay with us as we strive to provide impeccably safe and clean homes, excellent customer service and care, and timely communications. We promptly and politely responded to any and all communications. We spoke to the guests on the phone the day of their arrival to allow them complimentary early entry into the home. We did not hear from them again during their entire stay with any questions or concerns. Upon departure it was found the guests had a dog in the home which they did not notify us, get approval, or pay the pet fee as outlined in our listings, booking confirmations, and agreements . We kindly reached out to the guests to inform them of the pet policy and request they pay the pet fee which is used for additional cleaning fees as required. The contents of this review was emailed to us in response with additionally the following last line... ".... Also, your property stated that it was pet friendly. When we booked the unit, we were never asked if we had pets, so we assumed no additional fees would be charged.... Only after we checked out were we notified about the additional pet fee, I would have preferred to be presented with that information and additional fee at the time of booking. The overall experience was positive but wanted you the opportunity to respond before we submit our review on-line. Thanks, Mark" We kindly responded to their email the following day with thoughtful responses to which we received no reply only payment of the pet fee. Many of the items in their feedback were confusion on how to use items in an unfamiliar home... we would have been happily been able to troubleshoot or assist them if they would have reached out at anytime during their stay. It is important to note, the home is safe. The stove is a GAS stove... as with all gas stoves it has pilot lights properly on at all times because if they are not gas would actually leak into the home unsafely. We unfortunately feel that this review was only left as a result of us catching them with a dog and enforcing and asking them to pay the pet fee since they stated they would allow us to reconsider the pet fee and respond prior to posting the contents of their email and review. We stand by by our policies for the safety and cleaniness of our homes for our all our owners and guests.
"This house was stunning. The beach access was right down the block so the walk was not bad and the beach there was AMAZING!!!"
What a gem!
"We absolutely loved our stay at Point's Hideaway. We frequent Rosemary Beach, but needed to go further south because of the time of year and the weather. This property and Anna Maria Island didn't disappoint. The house, furnishings, and amenities were excellent. We truly had everything we needed, even down to beach chairs, beach towels (PLENTY of these), gates (we had a tiny dog), and options for entertainment. The house is perfect for three couples since there are three bedrooms with three king beds. This house was the cleanest home I've ever rented. You could smell the clean the moment you walked into the house. The floors were spotless and we felt safe knowing it had been cleaned to that extent. The communication with the owner was great and she answered all of our questions very quickly. There are a lot a stairs, but that didn't bother us at all. The up-rise on them was open so we did carry the tiny dog up and down, but again, it wasn't a problem. Word of advice, rent a golf cart for your entire stay. We parked the car when arrived and didn't get back in until the day we left. I give this a five out of five, and that doesn't happen often with me. Point's Hideaway, well done."
Thank you so much for the kind and thoughtful review! We greatly appreciate you staying with us and hope you come see us again!
We love Anna Maria!
"We had a great time at Points Hideaway. The property was the perfect size for 6 adults. We found the house to be exactly as described. Perfect location! Hope to be back there soon."
Thank you so much for the lovely feedback! We greatly appreciate it!
