Vacation Rental Owner Profile Photos Do Make a Difference

Nov 30, 2017

Vacation rental owner profiles DO MAKE A DIFFERENCE in traveler bookings and we'll show you the reasons why in this article.

Current travelers are savvy and do their research before renting a vacation rental with an owner that they do not know. More and more often travelers validate ownership before they transfer money to an unknown source and so they should! Often times they have saved money for an entire year or more and are sending thousands of dollars for that dream vacation. Listing your vacation rental on a secure listing website like Florida Rental By Owners is half the battle, homeowners need to do what they can to gain the trust and confidence of the traveler if they wish to make a booking.

When a traveler views a vacation rental property the homeowner only has a few minutes to make a difference in gaining that trust. Research has shown that it only takes "a tenth of a second to form an impression of a stranger from their face and that longer exposures don’t significantly alter those impressions." Their research is presented in “First Impressions,” in the July issue of Psychological Science. This is where the Vacation Rental Owner Profile Photo comes into play.

We've put together a complete list of Do's and Don'ts for your Vacation Rental Owner profile photo to help you make the best First Impression because as they say... "You only make a first impression once." so let's make it count.

Your profile photo should be a different photo from your business logo. Remeber you are trying to gain trust, confidence and connect with the traveler. A business logo isn't going to cut it. However, you can add a small logo on the lower corner of your profile photo with links your business with your personal photograph.
