Great rental and host
"Dan’ s Florida Condos area fantastic place to rent, my wife and I stayed in the one bedroom condo back in April for her birthday, we couldn’t have been happier, when Dan says he gets back in to you if you have a problem arise, he’s very quick to respond, we had a small problem with the bedroom tv, I got ahold of Dan and even before I could set my phone down, he was responding, we got the problem resolved in no time. Dan with Dan’s Florida Condos is the Best!!!"

GREAT STAY
"My wife and I could not have been more pleased renting this unit. The unit is located away from high trafic areas of the condo complex, and is conviniently located within a short 3 minute walk to the beach (just across Gulf Drive). Take advantage of the free shuttle that takes you along the shore (there is a shuttle stop within a few feet of the condo complex). We'll definitely be renting with these folks next year, thanks!"

Amazing!

Nice, clean and functional flat with good location
"Thanks Dan!! We really enjoyed our week in your Two-Bedroom condo at Runaway Bay! It's a beautiful, clean, well maintained condo equipped with everything you could possibly need for a great vacation. Having a washer and dryer right in the unit was awesome. The pool was GREAT...large with cool water which was SO refreshing on a hot Florida summer day, and the beach was a quick stroll across the street...we took advantage with long daily morning walks! We fell in love with the quaint Bradenton Beach/Anna Maria Island area with the great restaurants and fun entertainment, cute little shops, bike rentals, beautiful sunsets on the beach, etc., so much that we are actually considering retiring there next year....perhaps we will be neighbors! Beautiful and relaxing stay!
"Runaway Bay is a clean and well-maintained facility, and Dan's condo was the same, as well as nicely decorated. We especially loved the screened in porch overlooking the pond and fountain - very relaxing! It is a short walk to the beach, with a crosswalk signal that alerts cars to stop while pedestrians cross the street. Dan had lots of beach chairs and toys, as well as beach towels and umbrella. He even had a bottle of aloe, which we definitely needed after getting sunburned on the first day! My husband and children played tennis every day, and we enjoyed the shuffleboard court as well. The pool is beautiful, and even at busy times, there were still chairs left to sit on. Dan was great to work with and was very prompt in getting back to us with answers to our questions. The only things that could have been improved a bit were the internet, which was a bit spotty, and the picture quality on the television, which we didn't use too much any way. We would definitely recommend this spot and would love to come again!"

Loved it!
"Loved our stay at Runaway Bay. Very nice condo, everything you need in kitchen, washer and dryer, and stuff for the beach. Very impressed. Dan is always quick to get back with my emails or text. Great place at a great price.

Great location, Great stay
"Dan's condo was perfect for our family of 5, extremely clean and well maintained. The kitchen was fully stocked and there were plenty of amenities, including towels, chairs and toys for the beach. We enjoyed exploring Bradenton from the trolley. There is so much to see and do in the area, including lots of yummy restaurants. We enjoyed seafood at The City Pier and pizza at Oma's. The locals are extremely friendly and helpful. The best part was the beautiful beach, only a short walk from the condo. Our children keep asking to go back, so hopefully we can soon! Thanks, Dan, for letting us use your Florida home and for always being available either through e-mail or phone. We have recommended your place to several friends."

A place to remember and return!
"It was a really wonderfull condo. Very clean, fully equipped: microwave, plenty of crockery, dishwasher, washing machine, dryer, hairdryer, iron and board, television, movies, a lot of towels, also a few for the beach, a nice balcony with chairs, good working air conditioning, good shower. Stylish design, good chairs. We loved it.
A 5 minutes walk from beach and by car you can reach several beaches, nice restaurants. Lots to do in the area, such as Anna Maria Island, Robinson Preserve, DoSoto national monument, St Armands Circle, South Florida Museum with Snooty the mannatee, shopping, outlet in Ellenton. Thanks for sharing the condo!"

Staying at Dan O'Connor, Runaway Bay
"This was an perfect located unit, and just perfect Place for a family or similar to spend time on. The unit containing all necessary Equipment, good kitchen and bathing, pool, gym etc. Location was awesome , only steps to the beach , restaurants etc. I can highly recommend this to other guests, and en extra credit to the owner of "our" unit, Dan O Connor, who gave me good information Before , under and after our staying. Even tough we have a long trip to visit, we are hoping and looking forward to come back to Runaway Bay!

Very nice and relaxing accommodations
"We thoroughly enjoyed our week on the island, and this condo was exactly as pictured and described by the owner and previous reviews. Condo included some extras that not all condo or home owners typically offer (beach towls and chairs, stroller, beach toys, etc.), which made packing for trip a little less work :)Would highly recommend this condo to others and we hope to visit again. Communication with Dan was always thorough and with quick response time. Great trip!"

Fantastic Condo and Service
"We have stayed at Dan's 2 bedroom condo before, and unfortunately, this time we had to cancel. I left a review previously about how great the condo, pool, and beach are, but this time the review is for the owner himself. Even though we had to cancel at the very last minute for medical reasons, Dan went above and beyond to try and find a new renter for our week so that we would not be out the money we spent since we would not be able to enjoy his condo. That kind of service is reason enough to consider renting from Dan, besides the fact that his condos and the location are lovely. We will certainly stay at his condo again when the opportunity presents itself. Thanks Dan!"

Comfortable, well-organized and well-stocked
"We selected Dan's two-bedroom at Runaway Bay primarily because all the costs (i.e., taxes, fees)were included, which seemed to be different from most of the other rentals. The only extra was a $25/week parking/admin fee payable to Runaway Bay itself.
The condo was clean, cheery and contemporary, and well-stocked with linens, beach towels, kitchen equipment, water toys, etc. The location was great. The nice-sized, well-kept pool made for a great home-base; a trolley stop is right outside the driveway and a path to the beach is just across the street.
Dan was both proactive and responsive, providing excellent check-in and check-out directions. The Runaway Bay staff were also friendly and helpful.
We come to Bradenton/Sarasota annually, but this was our first time to rent our own place. We will do this from now on--- and I hope Dan's place is available next time we visit."

Beautiful condo near a beautiful beach!!
"We stayed in the 2 bedroom condo for a week, and it was absolutely wonderful!! Everything in the condo was clean and well kept. And Dan had provided tons of helpful information on a cork board in the condo. In addition, the condo is just steps from a nice pool and a short walk to a gorgeous beach. Couldn't have asked for a better location. Dan was easy to work with, always helpful and quick to respond. We would absolutely love to go back and stay someday!"

Near perfection!
"We enjoyed a WONDERFUL stay in Dan's two bedroom condo from May 2-9. From the first contact Dan made everything easy and answered every question promptly. We are extremely careful when choosing a rental property and we loved everything about the 2 bedroom (we'd rent the 1 bedrm in a heartbeat as well). We spent much time on the screened in balcony enjoying the soothing sounds of a nearby fountain and quiet view...breakfast on the balcony is sheer heaven.
The condo is decorated in a happy, but very tasteful beach theme. The queen and King beds were incredibly comfortable and everything was almost spotless.
Wifi was excellent and we had no problem with cell phone reception although I had read in some reviews that there could be but to just step outside.
The pool is salt water, which is so much nicer than chlorine, the beach is an incredibly short walk, there a pier with a couple of benches (railings all around so young children and pups are safe), where you can enjoy the tranquility of the water, watch for Dolphins or fish jumping....just a very short walk from the unit.
We loved the drive to St. Armands Circle and Sarasota by going through Longboat Key - the small bridges allow one to see the gorgeous turquoise water.
While traffic can be a bit crowded over the weekend, on late Spring and summer weekdays guests almost have the island to themselves. We spent most of our time driving around Sarasota getting to know the area and even as far as a Dunedin (north) so we can say that the condo is very convenient to anywhere north or south from Bradenton Beach.
The condo complex is also in extremely good condition which was very important to us.
Some might wonder why I said "near perfect" - minor things: condo could use fresh paint, but Dan has already commented above that will be done this summer. Twin and Queen beds could use new bedding but we are clean freaks and that may not be an issue to many. It would be nice to have a list of cable channels handy and perhaps a list of nearby restaurants etc.: we can recommend the Beach House near Bridge Street on Bradenton Beach (a left turn out of the complex and walkable or maybe a 3 min drive.) Guests cannot go wrong staying here! Thank you, Dan, for allowing us to enjoy your lovely condo...it was very hard to leave and had it been available we could have stayed longer! We definitely hope to stay again! Highly recommend!"

Top Notch Experience - Recommended
"My wife and I stayed two weeks in one of Dans beautiful units at Runaway Bay. It was our first time doing a VRBO vacation rental and we were very pleased with the whole process. Dan was very responsive to all of our needs. . .its as though he read our minds b/c all of his emails were proactively thorough. No need to go back and forth with questions, as he lays everything out very detailed initially so there are no surprises. We are hoping to book with him in his 1 bedroom unit this summer, since it will only be the wife and I this time and do no need the extra space his 2br unit offered us this winter.
Also. . . you get what you pay for! We stayed in a lower end unit at Runaway Bay in the past through their onsite rental office. Sure we saved a few bucks, but did not have the personal attention Dan provided. . .not to mention the unit was not as updated and clean as Dans. You can tell he takes pride in not only the guests experience but his units as well.

Loved our stay here!
"Having never booked a vacation in a condo instead of a hotel I didn't really know what to expect. I was so impressed with everything from the condo itself to cute little island. My husband took care of the booking and he was thrilled at how easy it was to get in contact with Dan and hash out all the details. We stayed in his two bedroom unit and absolutely loved it! The bed was super comfy and the place was spotless! I loved having the little balcony to go sit and have my morning coffee. We loved having the pool and the beach is just across the street. I even used the gym a few times. We had so much fun at the beach bars and restaurants on the island and did lots of wandering around! Will definitely recommend it to friends and can't wait for our next trip!"

Feels like home!

Nothing is missing in the unit. Everything has been tought. The large pool is very warm.

Great condo
"We spent a week in the 2 BR condo and thoroughly enjoyed it. The condo is spacious and clean and the facilities at Runaway Bay are great. The pool is large enough that you can actually swim laps in it and the beach is beautiful. Several posts mentioned the internet situation. I think we were the first ones to use the dedicated internet in the condo and it worked great, so that shouldn't be an issue for anyone going forward."

Wonderful condo
"We stayed in a two-bedroom condo that was well-appointed and modern. It's just across the street from the beach as well as very close to the pool. This was our 2nd stay at Runaway Bay, and in the off-season, it is a very tranquil and beautiful place. We had the entire beach to ourselves. Dan, the owner, is very attentive, detail-oriented, and made sure that we had everything that we needed for a lovely vacation. Highly recommended! We will definitely be renting this condo again."

Great Vacation
"My family and I including a 2 yr old and 6 yr old had a wonderful relaxing vacation in this condo. The sleeping arrangement worked out well as listed for 6 people. The kitchen was very well equipped, clean and made it easy to cook in a few times. Several good restaurants shopping nearby. The pool and beach were a few steps away which we enjoyed every day. We were impressed by how everything we needed was available including towels, hair dryers, washer and dryer, and beach chairs and umbrella. We would definitely return and recommend to others."

"We, a family of 4 adults and 1child, rented the condo in April 2014. We really liked it. Enough of space, well equipped and close to the lovely beach. Around the island there is a lot of restaurants but it is really recommended to have your own car to get around. The owner was very helpful and responded quickly on any questions we had."

A great time at Anna Maria Island
"We really loved our time at Anna Maria Island. We were 5 persons staying at Dan´s condo, 4 adults and 1 Child (7 years). We found the condo really nice. It is well planned, have a good location and clean. We appricated the closeness to the beach. We recommend that guest has a car. On the Island there is a lot of good restaurants and we also tried the mini-golf.
Dan really gave us good service, answered e-mails really quickly both before our trip and during when we had additional questions.
We would for sure recommend friends and family to stay at Dan´s condos when visiting Anna Maria Island."

Heaven on Anna Maria
"My daughter and I first discovered this beautiful island in Feb 2013 when we stayed in a studio apartment during her school break. We fell in love with the island and wanted to come back with the whole family. We have 3 adult children and I feel so fortunate to have found Dan's beautiful condo. It was absolutely perfect in every way. Well stocked with everything you could possibly want. So close to the beach. A beautiful pool. We had a slight problem with the air conditioning and Dan was on the phone to us immediately. The only downside was the Internet as you have to purchase a plan, which is cheap enough, but very unreliable. This has nothing to do with the rental however. We have already booked our return for 2015 and we can't wait."

"The unit's owner was wonderful to work with. He got back to us, almost immediately, with any questions or concerns we had.
The unit was immaculate when we walked in, and it truly felt like a home away from home. It was close to the beach (which we wanted), and also close to restaurants and the grocery store on the island. We did use the kitchen, quite a bit, and this helped us save money, which we were then able to spend on great restaurant meals on island.
AMI is within a decent driving distance from Tampa (an hour) and Orlando (a couple of hours), so we were able to make those trips to see the typical tourist attractions and still make it "home" for the night. We knew we already had a comfortable place to spend the night, so were able to stay out late.
The condo complex itself was very well maintained and quiet. We spent many hours on the dock, fishing and watching boats and birds. The pool was also well maintained, and we spent many sunny hours there (if we weren't at the beach, we were at the pool). The walk to the beach took, with traffic, less than 5 minutes; we were able to view many beautiful sunsets.
We took a sister-in-law with us (her first time in Florida in 30 years), and she was very impressed with our unit and Runaway Bay. She was pleasantly surprised at how well the pictures of the unit accurately depicted what was actually in the unit. She was also pleased with how well the unit was kept up.
We had a slight problem while staying here, and contacted the owner. Within minutes, he responded, and the problem was completely taken care of within an hour.
We were last on island 15 years ago at a different unit at Runaway Bay. We recommend this unit (and condo complex) to any and all who want to have a relaxing, positive time on Anna Maria Island."

Perfect Vacation Home
"We've found the perfect place to stay on Anna Maria. We were very pleased with the well stocked, well maintained, very clean condo. It was exactly as described. The owner was very easy to work with and very helpful. He even called us on the day of arrival to let us know that his cleaning person had just told him that the oven handle was loose and offered to have someone come fix it right away. I was very impressed by this since I've been in many places that just didn't care about something that was a minor inconvenience. I asked plenty of questions and he always answered very quickly. He also has the condo stocked with lots of beach toys, towels, etc. We brought our own things but really would have been fine using what he had. The kitchen is well stocked with plenty of pots, pans, skillets, etc. In fact it was the best stocked vacation kitchen I've ever been in. The grounds are perfectly kept, the pool was wonderful and updated to a salt water pool. You are just across the street from the beach and there is an easy walkway to get there. There is a trolley stop right in front of the condos so you don't really even need to use your car as long as you are staying on the island. It's very close to the grocery, pharmacy, restaurants and shops. I've never stayed at the same place twice on Anna Maria and I've been there every year for the last 10 years or so. We would definitely return to Runaway Bay!"

"Our family has only nice things to say about our experience at this property. Communication with the owner was easy and pleasant, the property is clean with comfortable livingroom furniture, has many updates, and had everything we needed from beach toys and towels to kitchen equipment and spices. It was a very short walk to the beach access. We were permitted to bring our well-behaved cat, and all of us, cat included, enjoyed the little screened porch."

Visiting for a Wedding
"This unit in Runaway Bay was great. The 2 bedroom / 2 bath unit had plenty of space and a fully equipped kitchen. As mentioned in the title we came down for a wedding and after talking to other wedding guests, it confirmed we had gotten the best deal as far as location and amenities. It is fabulously located right near the beach and the pool is right around the corner from the unit itself within Runaway Bay. The supermarket is a short drive up Gulf Shore Drive with restaurants within walking distance. If you plan on visiting Anna Maria Island, feel confident that a stay in this unit in Runaway Bay will be the easiest part of your trip and all you will have to worry about is your sunscreen!"

Great place to stay!

Great time in the sun
"Thank-you Daniel for letting us rent your condo. We had a wonderful time swimming in the pool, playing tennis and making sand castle on the beach. The condo was perfectly clean and the pictures tell how nice the place is. We took the free trolley to the fishing pier and watched the fish and dolphins. "Every thing was great and the apartment had everything you could ask for. Clean, nice and very close to the beach, onely a couple of minutes. We hade a nice pool area were the kids did spend a lot of time . And even a small gym that my son appreciated.Close to resaurants and shopping( by car) and in a very nice area. The owner has been fantastic and wery helpful with everything. Could not ask for better service! Perfect vacation spot!
"This unit provided everything we needed. And Dan was very helpful with every question I had before, during, and after our stay. We stayed here for a week with our 2 daughters and their husbands. It was such a wonderful stay....a much needed rest for all of us. The men enjoyed fishing several spots and had a dolphin show in the bay. At Coquina Beach, we had a huge manatee swim so close we could have touched it had my younger daughter not been so scared that she all but walked on water to get away. We went back to the same place the next day and he came right by again just like we expected. The area has great restaurants....Anna Maria Oyster Bar on Cortez, Cortez Cafe, the Swordfish Grill, the Rod & Reel Pier Restaurant, Sharky's, Moore's Stonecrab House in Longboat Key....all were exceptionally good. The weather was perfect every day! We can't wait until next summer to go back with our family and my husband and I hope to go back this summer. I have to say that our vacations at Bradenton last summer and last week rank right at the top of our vacations during our 37 years of marriage."

"This was our 11th year on Anna Maria Island at Runaway Bay and our second year in this condo. This was also our longest stay. We enjoyed every minute. Runaway Bay has all that we need: beautiful swimming pool, close access to the beach, tennis court, and so much more. As I said in last year's review, it is such a pleasure dealing with the owner of the condo rather than a realty company which we did for the previous nine years. He is very attentive to doing all he can do to make our stay a great experience and it was! We are looking forward to returning in 2013."

"We had a family vacation for Thanksgiving - Dad, Mom, Son (26), Daughter (23) - we all had an awesome trip. The unit was clean and had everything we needed - including beach chairs and a football. We could (and did) walk to a number of restaurants, a couple were right on the beach. The pool was heated and wonderful. They had a party room that we used to watch our favorite collge basketbal team. All this and plenty of golf courses within 20 minutes.
Great time had by all."

4th of July 2011
"My family and I stayed at this wonderful Runaway Bay condo for a long 4th of July weekend; it was fabulous. The condo was furnished with everything my family needed. The location is wonderful; directly across from the Ocean and on the Intercoastal waterway. The Complex was very tropical and the grounds very clean. We rented Paddle Boards one day and Kayaks on another day. We loved the pool and the pier that overlooked the Bay. There were forth of July fireworks 3 days in a row and the restaurants in the area were amazing. We would recommend this condo for a short weekend at the beach or a long summer vacation. "Greetings, I would highly recommend my experience with VRBO and my stay on Anna Maria Island. It was a quality property and well maintained. It really did feel like my "home away from home". The weather was a little cooler than they are used to but coming from Minnesota I can tell you, it was plenty warm and the sun was out except for one day. The whole experience was definitely a positive one for me."
