Venice Area Description and History:

Venice is one of the few cities on Florida's West Coast without a barrier island. The soft white sand beaches of the Gulf of Mexico form the western boundary of Venice. Fourteen miles (22.5 km) of beaches from Casey Key to Manasota Key offer unparalleled recreational opportunities including: swimming, sunbathing, fishing and boating. Shelling is also a favorite pastime, and fossilized sharks teeth can be found in abundance by sifting through the sand. Golfers enjoy excellent courses in the greater Venice area.

Venice is a Florida Main Street City; northern Italian architecture and beautifully landscaped boulevards that date back to the original city plans of 1925 grace its downtown. A historical treasure, Venice was originally called 'Horse and Chaise,' suggested by a tree formation along the coast. The settlement was named Venice after the canal city in Italy in 1888. Venice is a pleasant getaway for the vacationer who wants to relax and enjoy the Florida sunshine.

Take a walk along the miles of golden, sandy, uncrowded beach to search for shells or fossilized shark's teeth. Venice is known as the 'Shark's Tooth Capital of the World.' Sunbathe, swim, or fish in the surf.

Enjoy golfing at any one of the seven public golf courses located within the Venice area. At nearby Fisherman's Wharf, you can rent scuba & snorkel gear. You may also try catching that big one at the Venice public 750-foot long fishing pier.

These include: Sharky's on the Pier (a must - Sunday night is "Reggae Night" featuring a live Calypso Band), Marker 4 Oyster Bar which has a Friday night fish fry, and The Crow's Nest Marina Restaurant. For those landlubbers, try Luna Ristorante (great Italian fare), Ntinos Pizzeria and Restaurant (inexpensive and plentiful), Saltwater Caf (superb seafood), Gold Rush Barbeque (great baby back ribs), and MI Pueblo Mexican Restaurant (Muy Bueno Mexican food and Mariachis too).

Regional Attractions:

Sarasota Kennel Club Dog Racing, Ringling Brothers Circus and Art Museums, the Mote Marine Aquarium and Laboratory, Marie Selby Botanical Gardens, Sarasota Jungle Gardens, The Gulf coast Wonder and Imagination Zone, and the Museum of Cars and Music which are all located in Sarasota only 30 minutes north of Venice. • Clothing, towels, and personal materials are not to be left on railings, fences, doorways, balconies, window sills, and AC units.
• Keep your TV and other electronic devices at a volume that is only audible to the occupants of the condo unit you’re staying in.
• Use designated parking spaces. Each condo unit has one parking space that is numbered with the condo unit you’re staying in.
• Prohibited vehicles include large panel trucks, Class A and B motor homes, boats, and trailers.
• Guests are not allowed to bring any pets with them during their stay at our villas. Only property owners that stay year round at the condo complex are allowed to have pets.
• There is No Smoking allowed in any condo unit or any of the following common areas: courtyards, parking lots, sidewalks, balconies, south gazebo, laundry room, rental office, swimming pool area, and all grassy areas.smoking is ONLY allowed in the North gazebo (right side when facing the Gulf of Mexico) or at the bench in the parking lot (on the East side of the motel building).
• All renters must be residing at the villas if they decide to invite other guests to visit them while staying on the premises.
• Do not leave any items on the beach (kayaks, beach chairs, umbrellas, etc.) especially during turtle season which is May 1st thru October 31st.
• No carry in grills are allowed.
• Barbecue grills are provided in the rear of the pool area. Some condo owners also provide personal BBQ grills for their guest’s use.
• All scooters must be parked in the scooter area east of the motel building.
• Smoking is strictly prohibited inside any condo unit.
• Pets, RVs, Boats, Trailers, Campers, and Motor-homes are not allowed on the property..
• There will be a $100.00 additional charge assessed for locksmith services to any guest who happens to lock themselves out of their condo unit they’re staying in.
