The Florida Keys are considered the American Caribbean and feature swaying palm trees and turquoise waters, world class fishing, scuba diving, snorkeling, boating, sailing and kayaking.
Our Villa is perfectly located in middle keys known as “the heart of the Florida keys”. Duck Key is home to the destination resort areas of Hawks Cay Resort and The Village at Hawks Cay and a beautiful residential development.
Our Villa is located within the Village at Hawks Cay on Sunset Village Drive. Come and enjoy the spectacular ocean views of Tom’s Harbor from our villa. The Villa is a two story town home featuring 2 bedrooms, one with a queen bed and a TV, DVD player in the master, and one with twins and a flat screen TV and 2 baths and laundry upstairs. Downstairs there is a full kitchen, with cookware, dishes and utensils. The dining room and living room is decorated with a tropical décor. The living room has a large flat screen TV and DVD player and over looks a spacious lanai with views of Tom’s Harbor. Enjoy the Sunset Views from spacious lanai’s located downstairs and off the master bedroom upstairs. Our backyard faces the beautiful shoreline of Tom’s Harbor, a secluded cove with calm waters and beach pockets. Fish from the shoreline; launch your kayak or Jet Ski. Anchorage for boats near the shoreline is possible. Boat dockage may be available at request.
Resort attractions include a marina offering Boat dockage and rentals, Jet Ski and Kayak rentals, boat charters, sailboat trips, scuba diving, snorkeling, a well stocked marina store and the Angler and Ale Restaurant within walking distance of the Villa. Drive ten minutes to the town of Marathon and you will have your choice of many restaurants, and bars along with fishing charters and dive operations. Have breakfast at the “Pig”, maybe lunch at the “Keys Fishery”. Try a happy hour at “Sparkeys Landing” and meet the locals. Just don’t dress up, they’ll look at you funny. Enjoy the casual lifestyle…you’re in the Keys! Take a dip at the Sunset Grill Pool by the seven mile bridge, free when you drink and eat! Beautiful View
The Florida Keys also boasts some of the best fishing in the states. If your preference is to fish offshore on the reef for sailfish, mahi, or grouper, just take the channel out of Duck Key and you are only five miles away. For those who like the challenge of stalking the flats for bonefish, you have come to the right place. A short ten minute boat ride out of Tom’s Harbor will bring you to some of the best flats fishing in the Middle Keys. Bring your fly rod or light tackle and be prepared for a good time. But don’t stop there. Head on out to the gulf side to the “Back country” and fish the “white spots” for snapper. Bring your own boat, rent a boat, hire a guide, wade fish, or fish off the bank; it’s all available at The Village at Hawks Cay. Scuba Diving in the Florida Keys offers the best diving in continental United States. Many dive sites are located within easy reach of Duck Key, including the very popular Sombrero Reef and Coffin’s Patch. Dive trips, snorkeling, and snuba are available at the marina, and in nearby Marathon. Need more to do? Spend an afternoon at one of the many nearby state parks for nature walks, birding, and beach combing. Long Key State Park, Bahia Honda State Park, Crane Hammock, and Anne’s Beach are all within an easy drive from Duck Key. Take a walk in Duck Key which has many great walking paths and views, or stop by at any one of many marinas around 3:00 pm and see the charter boats bring in their catch. Take a walk on the wild side. Enjoy the Keys on your hands and knees! Key West is an hour’s drive south to mile marker 0, 90 miles from Cuba. Enjoy the many restaurants, bars, music, shopping, and of course, the sunset.
We are a retired couple from Texas - we have owned and operated our property since 2001 and were the original owners.

Located in the Village at Hawks Cay
Located in the Village at Hawks Cay on Duck Key on Tom's Harbour. We do not participate in the Hawks Cay Rental Program. Our guests do have access to the amenities open to the general public, such as the restaurants, marina services which include boat rentals and charters, snorkeling and scuba and sailing trips and rentals of Jet Ski', Paddle Boards, Kayaks etc. A great facility for water sports. There is also the dolphin experience and the spa services. We are located on Tom's Harbor and there are several beach pockets along a very generous lawn and shoreline on the water. Kids enjoy sports and fishing and many launch kayaks from the shoreline as well. Sombrero Beach is a well equipped facility with bathrooms, changing area and showers as well as grills and picnic tables located in the area. It is located about 10 minutes away in Marathon. The Sunset Grill by the seven mile bridge has a lovely pool with a view and open to all guests - they have a great food and drink menu. The Dolphin research Center is also nearby as is Theater under the Sea great fun for the kids and adults alike. It is located in Islamarada about 20 minutes away. There are numerous facilities that offer boat rentals, fishing trips and snorkeling and diving - Key West is about 1 hour away and also has nice public beaches and loads of attractions on the water. If you like to spend time doing other activities our rates are significantly lower than that of the resort and leave some $$ left for doing activities and enjoying all the Keys has to offer. If you have further questions feel free to call me at 281-773-9356. Thanks so much Laura

The resort was still under construction from the hurricane while we were there so we didn’t spend much time there. It was our first time to the Keyes so we did Key West one day, and played tourist there. The next day we went snorkeling thru Robbie’s in Ismaralda and loved it! So we went again the following day in Key Largo. Awesome again! It was great to be close to everything in the Keys. The beds were comfortable and very cute. The AC worked great. Laura was very accommodating, helpful, and nice.

A nice place. Responsive owner. We were very comfortable. Like the two porches. Parking was easy. Five stars. (upgrade on wifi and TVs would get 5+ Stars, but we didn't go to the Keys to watch TV or our devices)

The resort had not opened when we were at the condo. Therefore it was very quiet and lovely! The condo had a warm and homey feel to it! We relaxed and enjoyed ourselves very much! The weather was exceptional warm but loved all the sunshine we had while there since we were from the gloomy north!! Thank you Laura for sharing your home!!

The condo was close to beaches, shops, restaurants and the Dolphin Research center which is one of the spots we wanted to go. Our unit have everything we needed, great decks to sit on while winding down each day, clean and comfortable. Highly recommend it.

The rental is nice... Just not quite ready to be rented after the hurricane just yet. We noticed a missing outlet cover, the TV cable box in one of the bedrooms wasn't activated, a step on the back porch was broken. However the most concerning issue was the roach we had found in the upstairs bathroom... We had only found one, so hopefully it was an isolated incident, but we're still going to have to completely go through our luggage to make sure we don't have any stowaways. The views are lovely, however the whole key is completely shut down due to the main resort being renovated. This place will be great... In about 6-8 months.

Perfect for 2 couples. Lots of room to relax, play cards, prepare meals or read. We spent a lot of time on the rear porch that faced the water. The unit wasn't damaged from Irma, it's fully ready to go.

We stayed during Christmas week 2017. We booked before Hurricane Irma but kept with our plan despite knowing the Hawks Cay resort would be closed. The condo is in great shape and was very clean with plenty of space for 2 adults and 2 kids (8 & 9). Breakfast on the lanai was awesome! The entire Duck Key was desolate as we were the only occupants in the block of 6 condos, so it was nice and quiet. We were planning on driving into Marathon and Islamorada for activities and eating anyway. The grounds around the condo were repaired and well kept, but the rest of the key was in varying states of repair. Note: we couldn't even look at the Hawks Cay resort grounds due to the less-than-polite security guards.
Laura was great and very responsive. Our only issue was the lack of Wi-Fi due to the resort closure for hurricane repairs. We were glad that we stuck with our plan and would recommend this property.
