The owners of one-of-a-kind beach rentals “The Shack” & “The Flunky” (homeaway.com/4224494), present Boardwalk Beachhouse, a two-bedroom, two-bath cottage on Treasure Island.
After a total facelift in 2017, The Boardwalk welcomes 4 to 5 guests. The rare, split floor plan at Boardwalk Beachhouse includes a king-size master bedroom at the back of the house, a queen-size guest bedroom at the center, and a remodeled, attached bath for each bedroom.
This split arrangement—with the bedrooms separated by the kitchen—makes Boardwalk Beachhouse a great (and rare!) option for two couples or a small family seeking a bit of privacy.
Meanwhile, outside, the namesake boardwalk deck feels like a beachside bar right in your own backyard.
A DAY AT BOARDWALK BEACHHOUSE
Begin the day with a shoreline stroll: The Boardwalk cottage is located just 1000 feet from the Gulf on the Pinnelas Beaches. Even better, you can take your pup on a walk with you — Boardwalk Beachhouse is pet-friendly!
Boaters and fishing folks in your group will love the nearby boat launch and the intracoastal fishing pier just across the street. When they return with the day’s catch (whether from their own fishing pole or one of Treasure Island’s fresh seafood markets), fire up the BBQ grill and dig in at your pick of umbrella-shaded outdoor tables.
In addition to the boardwalk deck, there’s also a paver patio with outdoor furnishings tucked under a sail shade. Both outdoor spaces feature reed fencing and lush landscaping for total privacy. The master bedroom has private access to the patio for morning coffee or evening cocktails.
At Boardwalk Beachhouse, outdoor living is strongly encouraged. But we understand if you want to spend some time indoors in the A/C, too. Prep dinner in the fully equipped kitchen with new granite counters. Then gather around the kitchen’s custom, 4-person dining table for dinner and an after-dinner card game.
Beach towels need a refresher? No problem — there is a stacked washer and dryer just off the master bedroom.
WHY WE LOVE THE BOARDWALK
Andy and Carol have applied their signature, vintage beach-cottage style to Boardwalk Beachhouse, with several handmade and reclaimed pieces throughout. Check out the custom pub table Andy handcrafted from an antique jack, the master bed’s headboard, which was made from planks from an old fishing boat, and a bedroom table with an antique tile cutter as its base.
This location is great, too—close to the beach but with hardly any beach traffic. There's even room for 1-2 cars in the driveway. Take your pick from a collection of fun restaurants and an array of water adventures on Treasure Island like parasailing, jet skiing, kayaking and motorboat rentals. When it's time to head home, the Tampa Airport is located about 30-40 minutes away.
Note: the living room is of very modest size and is not meant for large gatherings.

This house itself is charming, the paint made you feel like you were in a tropical oasis. The custom wood furniture was a delight and added a very unique vibe to our stay. The backyard while small offered a surprising amount of sitting area, with plenty of options for our morning coffee or late night cocktails. And the outdoor lighting was relaxing. The master bed was comfy, all linens were freshly cleaned when we arrived and house was spotless. The only issue we had were a couple of the pots and pans were scratched and the coffee pot was cracked but we were provided replacements immediately. There is a decent amount of kitchenware provided even if they don't all match (which kind of added to the charm). The master bath had strong water pressure and remained hot, but be careful of the angled shower shelf as my conditioner bottle slid off and landed on my foot. We were provided basic toiletries and a nice welcome binder to browse through for local places to eat and shop which was sweet. The A/C worked better than expected. Both t.vs had netflix set up which was nice and wifi worked and for the most part was strong. Beyond all of that the location is simply the best, you can't beat it. I would definitely stay here again, well worth it.

The property manager was very helpful.
The vacation rental was spotless.
I was happy with the location.
I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental.
Overall, I recommend this vacation rental.
This delightfully decorated cottage was just what we wanted for a weekend at the beach. Unfortunately, the best feature is the outdoor living space and we had a weekend of thunderstorms that kept us inside most of the time. Bedrooms were fine, but had king and queen beds when we would have preferred two twins in one. The living room couch is rattan and not very comfortable and certainly not an additional bed. It's located in a nice area with plenty of eateries a short drive away. Walking to the beach is easy, but it's a long haul from the road to water's edge, even with the help of the wagon provided. Overall, it was a nice rental on a quiet side street and we were very happy with the friendliness and professionalism of the management company.

Beautiful landscaping and a great, private, outdoor space. The inside is renovated and very clean. Public beach access directly across the street, 3 minute walk. 15-20 minute walk to center of TI or to Johns Pass.

I work for the Make-A-Wish Foundation and booked this place for one of my wish families who have a son who wished to go to Florida for a beach experience. The Boardwalk Beach House more than exceeded their expectations! They loved the back yard and patio, and how close they were to so many different fun activities. I had several questions for Beth during the booking process, and she was so great about being thorough and answering all of my questions. If I have another wish family who wants to go to the beach in Florida, I will definitely book the Boardwalk Beach House for them again!

The house is well-appointed in a great location just a few moments from the beach. Patio delivered a very luxurious experience. Beds are very comfortable and the decor is beautiful. If we were to return to Treasure Island, we would stay again. Host was very quick to respond, gave the house info in a very straightforward manner, and even has an accompanying mobile app for your stay. I highly recommend this space and this host!

It was a great staying at Elizabeth's place. Clean little house in a great location. It is about 5 min walk to the beach and a short drive from Publix. We drove to several other beaches in the area and ended up liking the one we could just walk down to the best. Elizabeth has been very accommodating, quick to respond and eager to help.

The house was very easy to find and check-in was a breeze. Just a short walk to the beach. Super convenient. House was clean and the beds were comfortable. The only drawback for us was the size of the bathrooms. They are rather small, so if you are a person of size this may not be a good fit. Otherwise we had a wonderful time and would recommend anytime!!
