High tide meets high fashion in this stylish, newly renovated, warm and inviting seaside retreat. It is truly a reflection of the owner’s interior design background, coupled with her love of travel (“Foot Loose”) throughout the US, Europe, Asia and South America. Only a two minute walk to the ocean (you can see and smell it, hear the sounds beckoning from the condo), there is nothing like the solitude and beauty of North Beach! Just beach houses and sand dunes, very little traffic and NO high rise buildings anywhere!! “Foot Loose” and Fernandina will be one of your favorite places, as it is hers.
This two bedroom, one and a half bath townhome sleeps four and provides numerous amenities, including a 50” flat screen TV in the Living Room with DVR, 40” Flat Screen in Dining Room, as well as flat screen TVs in both bedrooms-- all TV’s have multi-channels and recording capabilities. During the day, you can sun, fish, snorkel, surf, play beach volleyball, build sandcastles, walk, collect shells; and at twilight, it’s a slice of heavento sit, looking at the ocean and taking in its breezes, as you sip your favorite beverage. If you want to be more active, bicycle along the shore, watching as the deer wander down from nearby Fort Clinch National Park to also relax at the ocean edge. Actually, Fort Clinch is only steps away from the condo to the West—you can sometimes see the deer as they graze on the sand dunes bordering the Fort or walk past the condo on their trek to the beach and ocean.
If cooking is what you love, there is nothing like getting fresh shrimp, crab or fish when the boats come in at the pier to cook on the deck’s gas grill or in the open kitchen with stainless appliances, granite counters, and bar for friends/family to hang out. A wonderful assortment of cookware, including pots & pans, blender, food processor, slow cooker, toaster, coffeepot, and numerous utensils makes it easy to create whatever you like, and to serve it on, and in, an array of lovely dishes and glassware. There is also every spice imaginable in the kitchen for your use, plus fresh herbs growing in pots on the deck and in the garden just outside the back deck gate.
If you MUST work while at “Foot Loose”, there is hi-speed internet and a dedicated space with a desk and chair to make it more bearable. And, if by chance it happens to rain, the cabinet under the Living Room TV houses movies to select from, as well as books and games to help wile away the hours. There is also a local movie theatre less than 3 miles away.
Fun activities are everywhere—golfing, para-sailing, jet-skiing, skating park, hiking and biking through the 6 mile of trails in Fort Clinch National Park and the other bike trails in and around the island, or just strolling the quaint seaside city of Fernandina where unique stores, antique shops and art galleries abound. The City has incredible restaurants with varying cuisines from Japanese, Spanish, Thai, Bar-b-que to yummy Southern “Down Home” Cooking and more. There are gorgeous sunsets at the Marina where you can watch the fish/shrimp boats come in to weigh their daily catch while dining at Brett’s Restaurant and then meander down to the myriad of bars (dives and fancy, you pick!) hosting live music for your listening and dancing pleasure—Blue Grass and Western, Celtic and Irish, Blues, Oldies, Rock—it’s all there!
If you prefer to venture further, there is Cumberland Island, Jekyll and St Simons Island to the North, only a little over an hour’s drive away….or to the South is Jacksonville and St. Augustine, the Oldest City in the United States. Savannah, Beaufort, and Charleston are North by 3-4 hours.
